School Structure Each rotation is led by a Training Programme Director. Each hospital that hosts Emergency Medicine trainees will have a College Tutor, who is a Trust appointee. The College Tutors will be responsible to the Directors of Medical Education (DMEs) who are employed by each hospital to ensure educational delivery is of high quality.


In collaboration with The Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine , The Doctors for the NHS essay prize is open to all doctors in training. Doctors for the NHS are offering a prize of £500 for the best essay with the title: “ If I was Minister of Health …”, Along with the development and provision of generic skills for a range of medical professionals within Yorkshire & the Humber, the Education Team is responsible for the management and facilitation of a variety of elements and work functions which are aimed at providing career support and development for Trainees, Educators and SAS Doctors. We offer a number of courses and, Accountable to the lead Deputy Postgraduate Dean via the Head of School of Emergency Medicine , they will play an important part in the direction of training programmes across Health Education England, Yorkshire and the Humber ( HEE YH ). Specific roles and responsibilities will be discussed at interview.


The National Urgent and Emergency Care Programme (UECare) was established in April 2018 bringing together existing workstreams including Securing the future of the emergency department workforce, Paramedic workforce and Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP). ACP is now part of the AHP Cluster. UECare work collaboratively with HEE National teams in Primary.

We are a single school with equal training opportunities across the region but the training rotations are divided into Mersey and North Western.
